History
& Growth
It all started in
1968 with one man working out of a rented garage in Burlington, North
Carolina. Over thirty-five years later, the Apollo Chemical Company, LLC
has grown to where today it provides steady employment for 67 people and
rings up sales of more than $25 million annually.
Apollo is now recognized
as a leading supplier of state-of-the-art chemicals to the nation's textile
industry. It is setting standards for safety and environmental protection.
Apollo has more than established itself as an active and involved corporate
citizen in its own community.
"I'm very proud
of the reputation we have out in the industry for quality, service and
innovation," says Dexter R. Barbee Sr., Chairman Of The Board of
the North Carolina based company. "And I am particularly proud of
the working environment and the opportunities for employment that we've
been able to create."
It was Dexter Sr.,
born and raised in Alamance County, who founded Apollo.
As with most entrepreneurial
ventures, success did not come easily or quickly for Apollo. Much of the
company's growth has been achieved just within the past eight to ten years.
